1. About Capital & Society

Capital & Society is an independent socio-economic intelligence platform focused on issues relating to business, society, governance, public policy, sustainability and related subjects. C&S publishes original analysis, commentary, research and other editorial material. The content published by C&S is intended for information, analysis and discussion. It does not constitute financial, investment, legal, tax, medical or other professional advice.

2. Use of the Website

You agree to use the Website lawfully and responsibly. You must not:

– use the Website for an unlawful purpose;

– attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Website or another person’s account;

– interfere with the Website’s operation, security or infrastructure;

4. Membership

Certain C&S content and features may be available only to members. Membership may require you to create an account and provide accurate and current information. Membership is personal to the subscribing member and must not be shared, transferred, resold or made available to unauthorised persons. C&S may restrict or suspend access where an account or membership is being misused.

5. Membership Fees

C&S membership fees are displayed on the Website at the time of purchase. The membership offered at the time these Terms were published is an annual membership priced at ₹2,598 for one year, unless a different price is expressly displayed at the time of purchase. The applicable price, membership period and other material terms displayed at the time of purchase will apply to that transaction. C&S may change its membership prices or introduce different membership plans in the future. Such changes will not alter the price already paid for a current membership period.

6. Membership Renewal

Where a membership is set up for renewal, the renewal terms and applicable amount will be communicated or displayed to the member in accordance with the applicable payment arrangement. A member may request cancellation of future renewal in accordance with the Cancellation & Refund Policy. Cancellation of future renewal does not ordinarily terminate access already paid for during the current membership period.

7. Payment Processing

Membership payments may be processed through third-party payment service providers, including Razorpay and payment infrastructure connected to the C&S website. C&S does not control banking networks, card networks, UPI systems or third-party payment infrastructure and cannot guarantee that every payment attempt will be successful. Where a payment fails, is reversed or remains pending, membership activation or continuation may be affected until the payment issue is resolved.

8. Editorial Independence

Capital & Society maintains editorial independence. Membership payments, advertising, sponsorships, commercial partnerships or other commercial relationships do not entitle any person or organisation to determine, alter or suppress C&S editorial content. Editorial decisions remain separate from commercial relationships.

9. Editorial Content and Accuracy

C&S makes reasonable efforts to ensure that its published material is accurate at the time of publication. However, journalism and analysis may contain errors, omissions, interpretations or information that subsequently changes. C&S does not warrant that every item of content will always be complete, current or error-free. Where appropriate, C&S may correct, update or clarify published material.

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by the laws of India. Subject to applicable law, disputes arising out of or relating to the Website, membership or these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the appropriate courts in India.
